Baca Architects and the Waterstudio are international award-winning architects and waterfront designers who specialise in designing buildings on, in, near and under water. They collaboratively work under one brand called ‘Built On Water’.
DESCRIPTION
Set to have a distinctive presence on the Thames with eight diamond shaped castellated buildings, Royal Reach Marina comprises a 300-key boutique hotel, luxurious waterfront dining rooms and a clubhouse. The facility has up to 80 berths for boats and state of the art floating villas.
SUSTAINABILITY & INNOVATION
The rejuvenated marina blends sustainability and luxury to create an iconic luxury destination. The façades create a series of cascading hanging gardens which increase the ecological footprint of the site and enhance the riverside setting. Water from the marina and Thames acts like a blue battery- a renewable sourcethat reduces heating and cooling loads.
