Artois Composites is a French company specialized in development and production of composite parts. The company is currently working on a marine renewable energy project: a hydrokinetic machine. The production of electricity and the duration of the composite part will be increased, the waste will be reduced, all while being respectful of local wildlife.
The principle of this hydrokinetic machine relies on a membrane that waves in a water current. The membrane is made of composite parts and is equipped with electrical generators. Artois Composites is focused on the development of innovative composite parts with the aim of increasing its durability by approximately 20%.
Artois composites is the only company offering this solution, allowing energy to be produced in new areas, even with a low current, while being more respectful of wildlife, limiting waste, and with longer lasting material. Artois Composites is the only supplier of composite parts for the hydrokinetic machine.
Existing systems are based on a turbine generator. The innovative system uses a membrane which waves in a water current. The membrane is made of laminates and profiles and is equipped with electrical generators. This solution offers several advantages compared to conventional systems. Indeed, it is more respectful of local wildlife, and is able to operate with low current flow (0.7m/s) to generate energy but also at low depths.
We are looking to raise funding. More specifically, our next step is to further validate and qualify our technology and find new business partners.
