Specialising in light pollution and its impact on ecosytems, DarkSkyLab launched in 2014.
Based on experience in the field and the theoretical and technical expertise of founders and partners
(e.g. the International Dark Sky Reserve of the Pic du Midi project), DarkSkyLab now offers services ranging from consultancy for communities and companies wanting to improve lighting quality andnachieve energy savings to deep technical studies on light pollution and its environmental impact.

// PRODUCT OR SOLUTION DESCRIPTION

We use different scientific tools to measure, analyze, model and map light pollution. We are currently developing a device called Otus that produces light pollution maps by inputting a range of data on discrete light sources, satellite radiances, population, etc., and our own metrology tools, including a light pollution measurement system called Ninox for statistical purposes.

// UNIQUE SELLING PROPOSITION

We provide our clients with a clear roadmap for their lighting schemes during the life cycle of their project. We add value for rationalizing their lighting replacement scheme and attractiveness of their touristic sites.

// DIFFERENTIATION

Our technology is unique in that we can predict the effect of lighting schemes and solutions on light pollution and the well-being for humans and biodiversity.

// COLLABORATION EXPECTED

We are very keen to address the marina market and find partners to accelerate our international expansion.
